Sometimes a nudge isn't quite enough
Short-Term, High-Impact, High-Grade Coaching
My name is Ian, and I'm a consultant clinical psychologist with 30 years' experience of working in frontline NHS mental health services. I have a degree in Psychology, a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and a metric tonne of post-qualification training in all the various therapeutic approaches you'd expect.
I've created, developed and run nationally-leading NHS services from scratch, and until recently was a national specialty adviser to NHS England - the most senior clinical job in my field. I've been a co-applicant on major research projects, spoken often at national and international conferences, and have worked clinically with many, many people from all walks of life over the course of my career.

Alongside my day job, I've decided to set up a small coaching practice, specifically designed to help people navigate the inevitable, painful, but also extraordinarily valuable existential crises that often occur in midlife.
In part, it was motivated by the fact that there's so little help available for this, beyond the generic, banal mewlings of the online coaching/self-help industry. But also the realisation of the scale of the contribution a group of re-energised, refocused, fully-grown adults could make to our society.
I genuinely believe that if we - each of us - can start to face the things we need to face, take responsibility for ourselves and our own happiness, and make good, conscious choices about what we do from here on in, we can turn this thing around.
